Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy, a feature length documentary film, will unpack how we got to this moment where academia is infected with an ideology that is not only fanatically anti-Israel but is also anti-West, anti-democratic and anti-capitalist.

The film will explore the essence of this ideology that frames people in a binary as oppressor and oppressed, colonizers and colonized. It will reveal the origins of how this began and then metastasized even spreading to K-12 education. We’ll go back to the early days of this ideology in academia that’s been decades in the making, from its birthplace at Columbia University with Edward Said’s “Orientalism” in the early 1970s to Northwestern University today that recently hired Professor Mkhaimar Abusada, a professor of Palestinian history, who serves on boards that partner with Hamas and the PFLP.

Poison Ivy will have an investigative tone, taking us around the world to uncover the sources and masterminds behind the sophisticated networks that have indoctrinated a generation to be aggressively anti-Israel and anti-West, which has led to the radicalization of campuses.

Like we first explored in OCTOBER 8, we will dive deeper into examining social media to see how foreign players are manipulating algorithms and feeding online propaganda to create chaos. In many ways Poison Ivy is an extension of OCTOBER 8, where we scratched the surface on funding and what led to this moment but didn’t have the time to unpack how we got there.
